This short-term acute care, teaching hospital on Florida’s Treasure Coast is seeking experienced ER Registered Nurses (Emergency Department RNs / ER RNs) who thrive in fast-paced, trauma-informed settings. Ideal candidates have strong critical care skills, Epic EMR proficiency, and current ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications.

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department / ER RN
• Location: Vero Beach, FL 32960 (Treasure Coast) — Florida travel nursing job
• Facility Type: Short-term acute care, teaching hospital
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 21, 2026 – July 21, 2026)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Schedule: Mid shift; 3 x 12-hour shifts (14:45 – 03:15)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per month
• Orientation: 16 hours (includes required testing)
• Charting / EMR: Epic (level 3 or 4 experience required)
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
• Smoke-Free Facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free (negative drug screen required)
• Floating: May float within scope to affiliated hospitals within 20 miles (Martin North, South, Tradition)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 18 months recent ER RN experience required (2 years preferred; first-time travelers accepted)
• License: Active RN license in hand (no pending licenses) — Florida RN or compact RN acceptable per facility policy
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or Red Cross; must have at submission). NIHSS required prior to start.
• Epic EMR: Level 3 or 4 Epic experience required
• References: Two recent leadership references (supervisor/manager/ANM/director)
• Testing: EKG and pharmacy tests required during orientation (2 attempts max; study materials provided)
• Immunizations: COVID-19 & seasonal flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Drug Screen: Negative 10 Panel + Nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required within 12 months of start
• Onboarding: Time-sensitive modules must be completed promptly

Responsibilities — Emergency Department RN / ER Nurse Duties

• Rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of ER patients across a broad acuity spectrum
• Initiate and manage emergency interventions: IV access, medication administration, oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP, and ventilated patients
• Monitor for clinical deterioration, manage dysrhythmias, and escalate care appropriately
• Provide trauma-informed care and stabilize emergent presentations including major trauma and critical illness (e.g., gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations)
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely patient care
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to support continuity of care and quality standards
• Float within scope to support operational needs at nearby affiliated facilities when required
