Required Qualifications (Med/Surg RN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; state requirements apply (compact license accepted where applicable)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- PALS certification preferred
- No minimum years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility (travel nurse eligibility)
- BLS (AHA) required for submission; PALS preferred.
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients with a range of diagnoses and acuity levels
- Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and document thoroughly in the EMR
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered; monitor patient response and escalate changes in condition promptly
- Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team (physicians, therapy, case management, and ancillary departments)
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
- Maintain infection prevention, patient safety, fall precautions, and skin integrity protocols
- Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced acute care environment
