  • Position: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
  • Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (on-site)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: 03/23/2026
  • End Date: 06/20/2026 (assignments end on Saturday)
  • Schedule: 36 hours/week
  • Shift: 12-hour evening shifts

  • Additional Notes: Facility may cancel up to 36 hours per assignment due to census

Emergency Room RN (Travel) Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of recent Emergency Department (ED) RN experience in a similar-size ER; Trauma Level I or II experience required
  • Travel Experience: Prior travel RN experience is required for this position
  • License: Active Virginia RN license or Compact (multistate) RN license at time of submission
  • Certifications (required): BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale (current)
  • Trauma Certification: ATCN/TNCC/ATLC (or equivalent trauma credential as applicable)
  • Preferred: Cerner EMR experience
  • Time Off: All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application packet
  • Local Candidate Policy: Candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients across a wide range of acuity, including trauma and medical emergencies
  • Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs; initiate evidence-based interventions and escalate changes in condition promptly
  • Administer medications, start and manage IV therapy, and perform emergency procedures per protocol and provider orders
  • Collaborate with physicians, trauma teams, respiratory therapy, imaging, and ancillary departments to support stabilization and patient throughput
  • Deliver patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication during stressful situations
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR (Cerner preferred)
