Qualifications — Registered Nurse (RN) / Med-Surg

• Minimum 2 years recent Medical-Surgical RN experience in an acute care hospital
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (AHA) required
• MEDITECH EMR experience preferred (Medical-Surgical / acute care charting)
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (strict radius per driver’s license)

Key Responsibilities — Medical-Surgical Nurse

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Manage patient assignments with typical ratios of 1:5 (may be 1:6 as needed)
• Perform focused assessments, monitor patient conditions, and document clinical findings accurately in the EMR
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and coordinate treatments per provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support staff (CNA ratio typically 1:8–1:10)
• Float to other acute care and cardio units as needed, maintaining high standards of care
• Complete general and floor-specific orientation (1 week general orientation, 2 days floor-specific)
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and safe transitions of care
