Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Oncology / Oncology Travel Nurse
- Location: Memphis, TN 38104 (Midtown Memphis)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- End Date: June 22, 2026
- Shift: Nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours/week available)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Unit: SHORB 9 CV SERVICES M/S (Medical Surgical Oncology)
- Patient Ratios: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6 (team nursing model)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (W2)
Qualifications & Requirements (Oncology RN / Travel RN)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Medical Surgical Oncology RN experience (strict requirement); 3 years preferred
- Travel Experience: At least 1 completed previous travel assignment required (oncology travel nurse experience preferred)
- Trauma / Large Hospital: Level I Trauma and large hospital experience required
- License: Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state; must meet NLC guidelines
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy certificate/provider card required
- Education: ADN or BSN accepted (unless otherwise specified for specialty units)
- Charting / EMR: Cerner experience preferred
- Location Requirement: Must live at least 100 miles from facility (no local travelers)
- Restrictions: First-time travelers not accepted unless 3 years recent experience; pending license not accepted
- Health: Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities (Oncology Nursing / Night Shift RN)
- Deliver high-quality oncology nursing care to medical-surgical oncology patients during night shifts
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy safely per ONS/ONCC guidelines and facility protocols
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; respond promptly to changes in status
- Collaborate within a team nursing model to ensure safe patient ratios and coordinated care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge instructions
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support patient-centered care initiatives
- Float to like units within ~20 miles as needed (infrequent between campuses)
- Work weekends and on-call shifts as required
