- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (travel nurse contract)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend/holiday
- On-Call: No call required
- Number of Openings: 1
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 - $1,960 (estimated travel RN pay)
Required Qualifications (PCU RN / Travel RN)
- Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in Progressive Care Unit, step-down, or acute care telemetry settings (required)
- Neuro PCU / neurological step-down experience (required)
- Recent travel nursing experience or travel nursing work history (highly preferred)
- Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys must reflect active status)
- American Heart Association BLS (required)
- American Heart Association ACLS (required)
- NIHSS Certification (required)
- Current skills checklist (within 1 year) relevant to PCU/step-down specialty
- Two supervisory references completed within the last 2 years
- All scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and deliver skilled nursing care consistent with physician orders and evidence-based practice in a Progressive Care/step-down setting
- Provide direct patient care including medication administration, complex treatments, neurological assessments, patient education, assisting with transfers, and timely response to alarms and call lights
- Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, therapists, social work) to update plans of care
- Serve as a team leader/resource—delegate, oversee, and support clinical and support staff during your shift
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and hospital policies; maintain accurate documentation and charting
