Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (southeastern New Mexico; New Mexico travel nursing)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (General Medical-Surgical Inpatient Unit)
• Scrub Color: Any color
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): MedHost
• Floating & Call: Floating required; call only for census flex prior to shift if census is low

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — compact license accepted for New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience in an inpatient hospital setting (medical-surgical nursing)
• Current ACLS & BLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers — ensure your agency is registered with the state
• Experience with MedHost EMR or similar inpatient electronic medical records preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult inpatients on a Med/Surg unit
• Perform patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and report changes to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to provider orders and nursing protocols
• Document patient care accurately and timely in MedHost EMR (electronic medical record)
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff to coordinate patient care
• Float to other units as needed and participate in census flex call coverage
