Med/Surg Travel Nurse (RN) – 13-week night shift travel assignment in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Must have ACLS/BLS and 2+ years inpatient Med/Surg experience.

Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (southeastern New Mexico; New Mexico travel nursing)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (General Medical-Surgical Inpatient Unit)
- Scrub Color: Any color
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): MedHost
- Floating & Call: Floating required; call only for census flex prior to shift if census is low
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — compact license accepted for New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience in an inpatient hospital setting (medical-surgical nursing)
- Current ACLS & BLS certifications required
- PALS certification preferred
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers — ensure your agency is registered with the state
- Experience with MedHost EMR or similar inpatient electronic medical records preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult inpatients on a Med/Surg unit
- Perform patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and report changes to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to provider orders and nursing protocols
- Document patient care accurately and timely in MedHost EMR (electronic medical record)
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff to coordinate patient care
- Float to other units as needed and participate in census flex call coverage
