Travel RN Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,470–$2,600/week

- Unit/Setting: Nursing Float Pool – Med/Surg Telemetry (floating to boarding/hold areas as needed)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours: 36 hours/week (72 hours biweekly guaranteed; on-call hours not included)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (nights may include Fri/Sat/Sun)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:3–5
- Floating: May float in 4-hour blocks; frequent 4-hour changes are uncommon but possible
Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements
- Experience: Recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience; ability to float and adapt quickly across units. Level 1 trauma experience required. Candidates without prior travel experience must have strong recent acute-care experience and demonstrate the ability to ramp up quickly in a float/boarding environment.
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Required Certification: BLS (AHA)
- Preferred Certifications: ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
- EMR: Epic experience required
- Eligibility: Must meet applicable eligibility requirements for travel assignments
- Core Skills: Telemetry rhythm interpretation, patient assessment, time management, and ability to adapt quickly across units
- Testing: Day-one pass/fail testing required (practice resources provided prior to start)
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including continuous monitoring and timely escalation of clinical changes
- Interpret telemetry rhythms, recognize deterioration, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support rapid interventions
- Administer medications and treatments per orders, policies, and best practices; monitor for therapeutic response and adverse effects
- Float as needed to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units while maintaining consistent standards of care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic EMR
- Support patient and family education, discharge readiness, and care coordination across transitions
