- Position: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech / IR Technologist)
- Location: Kansas City, KS 66160 (Travel Healthcare Assignment)
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract – Travel Radiology Technologist
- Duration: 13 weeks (March 15, 2026 – June 14, 2026)
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,490 – $2,670
- Setting: Hospital – Interventional Radiology Unit (Bell Unit), high-volume IR suite
- Orientation: Begins every Monday & Tuesday; additional nursing orientation Wednesday–Friday (bi-weekly)
- On-Call: As needed
- Weekend: None required
- Floating: May float to Cambridge IR
Job Requirements – IR Technologist Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) technologist experience required; 3+ years and large hospital experience preferred
- Scrub Experience: Required (sterile scrub/assist for IR procedures)
- Certifications/Licenses: ARRT (Radiography) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license (must be in hand at submission)
- Equipment: Experience with Siemens Artis icono, Artis Q, or Artis zee single-plane systems preferred
- Other Requirements: Must be nicotine-free (facility requirement); new graduates not accepted; credentials due 1 week prior to start
- Skills: Vascular access support (central & peripheral lines), fluoroscopic imaging, patient positioning, radiation safety, and strong teamwork in a busy interventional suite
Responsibilities – Interventional Radiology Technologist Duties
- Provide expert technologist support for a high-volume IR department (60–65 cases per day) and contribute to efficient workflow in a hospital interventional suite
- Assist physicians with a broad range of IR procedures, including central and peripheral line placements for inpatient and outpatient populations
- Perform sterile scrub support, maintain strict sterile technique, and manage instrument setup for interventional procedures
- Operate Siemens single-plane imaging systems for diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures, ensuring image quality and radiation safety
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the IR team to ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, and high-quality care
- Float to other IR areas within the hospital as needed and participate in ongoing training and orientation for travel radiology technologists
- Manage cases neck-down with some light neuro overflow (e.g., thyroid biopsies) and support vascular access and interventional workflow
