- Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday–Thursday)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (Massachusetts preferred) — Massachusetts RN or appropriate travel nurse licensure
- Current PACU certification or relevant post-anesthesia care credential
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience
- At least 1 year of travel PACU experience
- At least 1 year of experience in an academic medical center
- Ability to complete required onboarding health screenings and background checks
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills — experience in perioperative nursing and PACU care
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia and post-operative care to adult and pediatric patients recovering from surgery (PACU RN responsibilities)
- Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain control, and neurologic function; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders and institutional protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgical teams, and perioperative staff to ensure safe handoffs and continuity of care
- Perform post-anesthesia assessments, pain management, and discharge teaching for patients and families
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation and uphold patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance standards
