- Contract Length: 13-week travel contract
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- On-Call: None
- Openings: 2
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,800–$1,890/week
Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Submission Requirement: 2+ years of Registered Nurse experience
- Submission Requirement: Post-operative open-heart care experience
- Telemetry Skills: Cardiac monitoring, rhythm strip interpretation, and rapid response to rhythm changes
- Clinical Skills: Chest tube and drain management; pre- and post-procedure care for radial and femoral access
- Cardiopulmonary Knowledge: Advanced understanding of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities
- Procedures/Equipment: Assist with chest tube removal, removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacers (pericardial and transcutaneous), and troubleshooting NIV/high-flow oxygen and other oxygen delivery systems
- Floating: Must float to all units within skill level
- Certifications: AHA BLS (required) and AHA ACLS (required)
- Licensure: Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) verified via Nursys
- Documentation: Current skills checklist (within 1 year) relevant to Telemetry and recent work history
Responsibilities (Cardiac Telemetry Travel RN)
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria.
- Provide cardiac/telemetry nursing care, including management of chest tubes/drains and monitoring for complications as applicable to assigned patients.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry strips, recognize changes, and initiate appropriate interventions and rapid response as needed.
- Support pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access, including vigilant assessment and hemostasis monitoring.
- Assist with specialized cardiac procedures and device management, including temporary pacers and oxygen/NIV therapies.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and help guide/support non-RN staff (e.g., LPN/PCT and unit support staff) to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.
