Travel OR RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,480–$1,590/week
• Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) / Perioperative Nurse / Scrub Nurse / Circulating Nurse
• Location: Charleston, SC 29425 — Charleston travel nurse jobs / South Carolina travel nursing
• Assignment Type: Travel Contract (On-Site)
• Start Date: April 6, 2026
• End Date: July 6, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week — night shift OR RN
• On-Call: No call required
• Holiday Coverage: Required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year’s)
• Floating: May float within scope to like units/sister facilities as needed
• Charting / EMR: Epic EMR
• Facility Highlights: Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, 21 OR suites, full surgical specialties
• Parking: $20 registration fee for garage hang tag

Travel Operating Room RN Requirements

• Experience: 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience strongly preferred
• Licensure: Active South Carolina RN license or multistate/compact RN license (must be active prior to start)
• Certifications: BLS required; radiation badge provided by agency
• Preferred Skills: Scrub experience, Level I trauma experience, perioperative nursing skills, circulating and scrub nurse proficiency
• First-Time Travel Nurses: Accepted — great Charleston travel nursing opportunity for first-time travelers
• Immunizations: Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Local Candidates: Accepted on a case-by-case basis (within 60 miles; local rate applies)
• Previous permanent staff: Must be separated from the MUSC system for 1 year before returning as a traveler

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care as a circulating and/or scrub nurse across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Prepare OR suites, verify equipment and supplies, and maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document intraoperative events and patient care activities in Epic EMR
• Support room turnover, case readiness, and regulatory compliance to maintain OR efficiency
• Float to like units as needed to support facility staffing requirements
• Participate in emergency response teams as assigned (including hurricane season preparedness)
