- Schedule: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Orientation: 72 hours
- Unit Focus: Med Surg Oncology/Telemetry
- Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
- Typical Census: 36 beds
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling
- Float: Required to float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
Job Requirements (Registered Nurse / Travel RN)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience (recent experience required; at least 1 year current specialty experience for clinical pass)
- License: Active RN license (compact or Ohio RN license in hand at submission)
- Certifications: BCLS / BCLS (AHA) as applicable
- EMR/Charting: Epic experience required
- Telemetry Skills: Telemetry monitoring; dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Clinical Skills (required): IV starts; central line/PICC management; blood product administration; arterial line management; ABG interpretation; port access; HFNC; assist with chest tube insertion/removal (as needed)
- Preferred: Oncology experience (preferred, not required); prior travel nursing experience
- References: Two professional references (at least one from a manager/director or formal leader)
Responsibilities (Med/Surg Telemetry RN – Nights)
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for Med/Surg Oncology/Telemetry patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, including patients receiving chemotherapy-related observation
- Interpret telemetry rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and escalate changes in patient condition promptly using established protocols
- Administer medications and blood products per policy; manage IV therapy, infusion pumps, and related devices
- Perform and maintain central line/PICC care, port access, and arterial line monitoring as indicated
- Support symptom management, comorbidity management, and patient/family education throughout the plan of care
- Maintain strong infection prevention and fall prevention practices for an adult/geriatric population
- Document accurately in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary partners
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed to support staffing and patient care priorities
