• Position: Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) — Night Shift (Travel RN, Telemetry Nurse)
• Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 (Mercy Main / West Des Moines campuses)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 - $2010
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• End Date: June 21, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour nights)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Employment Type: Travel, W2
• Unit: 7 North Med Surg Tele (Med/Surg Telemetry unit)
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend/holiday (EOW/EOH)
• Floating: Must be willing to float between Mercy Main and West Des Moines campuses as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (must meet Iowa RN practice requirements prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, progressive care, or similar acute care setting
• Current certifications required for Med/Surg Telemetry RNs (e.g., BLS; ACLS if required by facility)
• Ability to complete all required onboarding items prior to start (health screenings, competency testing, background checks, etc.)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
• Willingness to float between units and campuses to support patient care and staffing needs

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to adult patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit during night shifts
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate per protocol as a telemetry nurse
• Administer medications, perform thorough assessments, and document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and safe care transitions
• Float between Mercy Main and West Des Moines campuses as needed to support patient care and staffing needs
