- Location: Greenville, NC (Zip: 27834) – Eastern North Carolina travel nursing opportunity
- Unit: Neurosciences ICU (Neuro ICU / Neurocritical Care)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Start Date: June 1, 2026
- Staffing Ratio: 1:2 RN-to-patient
- Bed Count: 24-bed tertiary care Neurosciences ICU
- Dress Code: Solid black or white uniforms
Qualifications & Requirements (ICU RN / Travel RN)
- Active RN license (Compact licenses accepted) — eligible for travel nursing in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience; neuro ICU or neurocritical care experience preferred
- ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- NIHSS Stroke Certification required
- Must pass EKG and Pharmacology exams during compliance process
- Ability to float between Neurosciences ICU (NSICU) and Surgical ICU (SICU) as needed
- Must reside outside an 80-mile radius from the facility
Key Responsibilities (Critical Care Nurse / Neuro RN)
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neuroscience patients, including acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, post-neurosurgical, and endovascular cases
- Perform NIHSS assessments and participate in neurocritical care protocols
- Assist with lumbar puncture, ventriculostomy/ICP monitoring and management
- Manage invasive devices and continuous monitoring: arterial lines, central lines, cranial drains, and mechanical ventilation
- Titrate complex IV drips (analgesia, sedation, vasopressors) and implement hypo-/hyperthermia protocols
- Support Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) when indicated
- Float to areas of equal or lesser acuity and maintain unit standards and RN-to-patient ratios
