- End Date: July 27, 2026
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Orientation: 1 week dayshift classroom, 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
- Self-scheduling: Requests accepted prior to final schedule posting
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,940 - $2,040 per week
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience (within the last 3 years)
- At least 1 year of current specialty experience in surgical oncology or Med Surg
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- ONS Chemo certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Ability to float to other acute care oncology units as needed
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care to adult and geriatric patients with complex surgical oncology needs
- Manage patients with diagnoses including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, plastics, ortho, and cardio thoracic surgeries
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips
- Respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
- Utilize and maintain specialized equipment (GE telemetry, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds)
- Implement infection prevention protocols and fall prevention strategies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to variable weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
