Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000-$2100
- Location: Boise, Idaho (83712) — Boise healthcare / Idaho travel nursing
- Assignment Type: Travel RN (13-week contract)
- Setting: Acute Care – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Perianesthesia Nursing
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 4 x 9-hour day shifts per week (primarily Mondays and Fridays); shifts may end as late as 10:30 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: February 27, 2026
- End Date: May 29, 2026
- Unit Size: 31 beds, covering both adult and pediatric patients
- Orientation: 3 days of unit-specific orientation
Job Requirements
- Active RN license (state of practice or compact license preferred)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- At least 2 years of recent PACU experience in a large hospital setting preferred
- Experience caring for both pediatric and adult patients (pediatric PACU and adult PACU experience)
- Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Ability to work in all PACU recovery areas (adult inpatient, adult outpatient, and pediatric)
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius from Boise, ID (83712)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care for a diverse patient population, including adults and children — PACU RN / perianesthesia nurse responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures, including total joints, neuro, cardiac, plastics, cath lab, IR, and endoscopy
- Provide Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia care following ASPAN standards and maintaining typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical teams, and multidisciplinary support staff to ensure safe recovery and continuity of care
- Utilize EPIC for accurate electronic charting, handoffs, and patient documentation
- Support a positive, inclusive unit culture and contribute to the PACU’s reputation for being welcoming and friendly
- Adhere to hospital policies, including dress code (blue scrubs provided)
