• Unit: 6 North Neurology (Neuro unit)
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
• End Date: June 21, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM); position requires working every other weekend and every other holiday
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,910 - $2,010 per week

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa or an active compact RN license (travel RN eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in neurology, medical-surgical, or telemetry settings (Neuro RN / Neurology nurse experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to complete onboarding health and competency requirements (drug screen, immunizations, background check)
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care on the neurology unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and document patient status, vital signs, and neuro checks
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately as prescribed
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and families to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, care plans, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff while following hospital and regulatory policies
