Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) — Day Shift Travel Position in San Antonio, TX 78207. 13-week travel contract for experienced acute-care RNs providing med-surg, rehab, and respiratory care.

- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) — Day Shift
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1460-$1540

Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas RN preferred)
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or a related acute-care nursing specialty
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Experience with trach/vent and high-flow oxygen therapy recommended but not required
- Rehab experience recommended but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive med-surg nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for assigned patients
- Deliver safe, high-quality care to a mix of rehab, surgical, and respiratory patients across multiple floors
- Administer medications and treatments per protocols, monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in the EMR (Epic preferred)
- Assess learning needs and provide patient, family, and caregiver education focused on discharge planning and ongoing care
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs to promote patient-centered care
- Delegate and assign tasks appropriately to nursing assistants and clinical support staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case managers) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
