Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (required for Texas nursing jobs)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in Med/Surg or related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Epic electronic health record (EHR) / Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with trach/vent and high-flow oxygen therapy recommended
• Rehab nursing experience recommended but not required

Core Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care to a diverse inpatient med/surg population across rehab, surgical, and respiratory units
• Apply the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments safely; monitor patients for therapeutic response and side effects
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing care using Epic (preferred) or facility EHR
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education on disease management, procedures, and discharge planning
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in a patient-centered care model
• Delegate appropriately to nursing assistive personnel and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage clinical situations effectively
