- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 20, 2026)
- Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) — 8-bed CVICU within a 30-bed ICU
- Shift: 12-hour nights (every other weekend and every other holiday)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel / Contract RN
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130 per week
Required Qualifications (CVICU RN / Travel Nurse)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or cardiac ICU RN experience (required)
- Current experience recovering immediate post-op CABG and TAVR patients (required)
- Experience managing Swan-Ganz (pulmonary artery) catheters (required)
- Proficient with EPIC electronic health record charting (required)
- BLS required (must obtain prior to direct patient care)
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire
- Ability to pass EKG interpretation exam
- Experience with Impella, VAD, IABP, and CRRT preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for critically ill cardiovascular surgical patients, including fresh post-op CABG and TAVR cases
- Manage advanced lines, drains, and devices: Swan-Ganz catheters, Impella, VAD, IABP, and CRRT
- Perform ventilator management and titration of vasoactive and critical drips
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
- Serve as a point of contact for patient care coordination across departments and interdisciplinary teams
- Advocate for patient safety and actively participate in unit quality improvement initiatives
- Educate and support patients and families coping with critical cardiac illness and post-op recovery
- Accurately document all care in EPIC EHR and maintain clear clinical communication
