Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN / Contract RN)
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotations required
- On-Call: 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period
- Float Pool: Float between Med/Surg, ICU, Telemetry and ED at local hospital locations
Required Qualifications (Travel RN / ICU RN)
- BSN required
- Current New York State (NYS) RN license
- Minimum 1 year experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care (ICU) settings — travel nursing experience preferred
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or RQI)
- NIHSS certification
- Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability and willingness to float across ICU, Med/Surg and ED units
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; computer literate
- Preferred: ENA certification and TNCC within 2 years of hire
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in ICU, Med/Surg, Telemetry and ED units
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients across the lifespan
- Interpret patient data, recognize clinical changes and initiate appropriate interventions
- Float between units as needed to support staffing and patient care demands
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and a healing environment through effective communication and teamwork
- Participate in weekend, holiday and on-call rotations as scheduled
