Job Details

• Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 — Des Moines nursing job in a friendly, growing community (Iowa healthcare).
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,750–$1,840/week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Setting: Resource Pool – Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele RN, Telemetry nursing)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Start Date: February 27, 2026
• End Date: May 28, 2026
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States (state-specific licensure as required)
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a Medical/Surgical Telemetry setting (Med/Surg Tele RN, Telemetry experience)
• Proven skills in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation (Telemetry RN competency)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday
• Successful completion of onboarding requirements: health screenings, background check, competency testing, and immunizations

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for medical-surgical patients on a telemetry unit (patient care, clinical assessment)
• Continuously monitor and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry systems
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to provider orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, case managers, therapists) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record with accuracy and timeliness
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medication instructions, and post-discharge follow-up
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment for patients, families, and staff
