• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Peoria healthcare, central Illinois)
• Setting: Hospital Radiology Department – hospital MRI, inpatient/outpatient/ED imaging
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (travel MRI technologist jobs)
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: August 3, 2026
• Duration: 20 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights – night shift MRI tech
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month
• Holiday Requirement: Possible
• Dress Code: Standard solid colored scrubs (not provided); tattoos must be covered
• Orientation: Orientation consists of 12 non-billable hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.

Required Qualifications – MRI Technologist

• Active Illinois MRI Technologist license (or proof of application in process)
• ARRT (RTR MR) certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist / MRI Tech
• Hands-on experience operating GE MRI scanners (1.5T and 3T)
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety guidelines, standard acquisition sequences, and patient screening
• Ability to start IVs for contrast administration
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and PACS systems
• Comfortable working with outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients
• Compliance with drug-free campus policy (negative drug screen required)

Key Responsibilities – Hospital MRI Tech

• Perform MRI scans across a range of patient types: outpatient, inpatient, and ED cases
• Operate and optimize GE 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners while following all MRI safety protocols
• Start IVs and administer contrast per protocol when required
• Follow standard acquisition sequences and departmental imaging protocols to ensure diagnostic quality
• Document procedures, images, and patient data accurately in Epic EMR and PACS
• Collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other radiology team members to deliver high-quality patient care
• Participate in department orientation, continuing education, and mandatory training
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to hospital policies and dress code

Preferred / Additional Skills

• Experience in a high-volume hospital radiology department
• Prior travel MRI assignments or contract experience
• Additional certifications or advanced MRI sequence knowledge
• Strong communication and patient care skills for diverse patient populations
