• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel RN assignment)
• Start Date: March 30, 2026
• End Date: June 29, 2026
• Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (06:45 – 15:15)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,530–$2,670/week
• Call Requirements: Every 3rd day and at least 1–2 weekends per month (weekday call: 15:00–07:00, weekend call: 48 hours)
• Floating: Expected to assist in General OR when there are no CVOR cases; ideal for perioperative nurses comfortable in multiple OR specialties
• Setting: Cardiac Open Heart Surgery Unit — cardiothoracic surgery, adult/geriatric surgical population

Job Requirements — CVOR / Cardiac OR RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN or Cardiac OR nursing experience (open heart/cardiothoracic cases preferred)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (no license hits accepted)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
• EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record / EMR proficiency)
• Ability to take call as scheduled (every 3rd day and 1–2 weekends per month)
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients, including potential COVID-positive surgical patients
• Completion of pre-employment modules (5–6 hours) prior to start date
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Responsibilities — Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse

• Provide skilled perioperative nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) for a variety of cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including open-heart surgery
• Assist surgeons and scrub team during cardiothoracic cases; monitor hemodynamics and support intraoperative patient management
• Float to General OR as needed when CVOR cases are not scheduled, supporting a range of surgical specialties
• Participate in call rotation, including weekday and weekend coverage, responding to emergent cardiac surgical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (anesthesia, perfusion, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, PT/OT) to ensure coordinated perioperative care
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with infection control, universal protocol, fire safety, and sterile technique
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC (EMR charting)
• Maintain high standards of clinical practice and compassionate care for adult and geriatric surgical patients
