Join a dedicated healthcare team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as a Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN). This travel nurse assignment offers a chance to provide specialized cardiac and stroke care in a 42-bed Heart Failure / Stroke Unit, working closely with cardiologists and neurologists to deliver best-practice, compassionate acute care.

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00), every other weekend and holidays as required
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week available)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Number of Positions: 2 Telemetry Nurses / Travel RNs
- Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs
- Parking: Available on-site
- EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1840-$1940/week
Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Active RN license in Alabama or Compact State (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Current AHA or Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (will consider 18 months with at least 1 year in Med/Surg Telemetry specialty)
- Telemetry experience, cardiac nursing, and stroke care experience preferred
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals within the system as needed
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients with heart failure, acute stroke, and other neuro-cardiac conditions
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data; act promptly on telemetry alarms and changes in patient status
- Provide acute care nursing, including medication administration, treatments, and interventions per protocol
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including cardiologists and neurologists, to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in Meditech EMR
- Float to other units or hospitals within the system as required
- Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled; participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes
