- Role: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel RN / Travel Nurse
- Setting: PCU / Med-Surg Telemetry Float (Telemetry RN, Med-Surg RN)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: March 16, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), every other weekend required (Sat/Sun)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel / Contract (Travel Nursing Job)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,020 - $2,130 per week
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Rhode Island is a compact state (compact RN license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, PCU, or progressive care nursing
- At least 2 years recent cardiac experience, including post-cardiac catheterization (post-cath) patient care
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (must be obtained prior to submission)
- EPIC EMR experience required (electronic medical record documentation)
- Ability to float between Med/Surg Telemetry and PCU units
- Strong clinical assessment, cardiac monitoring, communication, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality progressive care nursing for PCU and Med-Surg Telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
- Manage care for post-cath and other cardiac patients, respond to changes in condition, and escalate as needed
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per protocol and document care accurately in EPIC
- Perform focused assessments, monitor vital signs, and use telemetry/monitoring equipment effectively
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiology, physicians, case management, respiratory therapy) to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on procedures, discharge instructions, and cardiac care best practices
- Float between PCU and Med-Surg Telemetry to support unit staffing and patient needs
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and quality standards
