We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Travel Registered Nurse (L&D Travel RN) for a travel contract assignment in Mesquite, Texas (zip code 75149). This role is ideal for Travel RNs with strong fetal monitoring and mother-and-baby care skills who want to work in a busy L&D unit with EPIC charting and collaborative teams. • Location: Mesquite, TX 75149 (Dallas-area travel RN opportunity)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract (13-week assignment)
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D), mother & baby care
• Start Date: March 16, 2026
• End Date: June 14, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day Shift: 6:45 AM - 6:15 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2000-$2100/week
• Charting System: EPIC (electronic medical record)
• Scrubs: Navy or Royal Blue

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (Nursys verification required) — eligible for Texas practice
• Minimum 1 year recent Labor & Delivery Travel RN (L&D Travel RN) experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Basic or AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Experience with mother & baby care, postpartum care, and vaginal examinations preferred
• Resume and completed skills checklist required for submission
• Ability to care for COVID-19 patients as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period
• Perform continuous and intermittent fetal heart rate monitoring and interpret tracings
• Administer medications, assist with pain management, and support labor coping strategies
• Support, educate, and counsel patients and families throughout labor and postpartum stages
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatal staff, and multidisciplinary teams for safe, quality care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in EPIC
• Maintain unit safety, infection control, and hospital policy compliance
