This travel nurse assignment for an ICU/IMC Float RN provides critical care to adult and geriatric patients across ICU, IMC, ED, and Med-Surg units. Job Details
- Location: Clinton, MD 20735 — Maryland travel nursing position near Washington, D.C.
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30) — Night shift / Critical care RN role
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,770 - $1,860 per week
- Setting: ICU/IMC Float covering ICU, IMC, ED, and Med-Surg as needed
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per 6-week period
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Charting System: Cerner (experience preferred)
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience — critical care RN experience required
- Active RN license in Maryland or compact state
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- MS/Telemetry and cardiac telemetry experience required
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- First-time travel nurses welcome — great opportunity for new travel RNs
- Ability to float between ICU, ED, IMC, and Med-Surg units as needed
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in ICU and IMC settings
- Float across ICU, IMC, Emergency Department, and Med-Surg units based on patient needs
- Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias (cardiac telemetry)
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and provide ventilator and tracheostomy care
- Perform wound care, manage feeding tubes, and care for patients with central and peripheral lines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Participate in rapid response and code teams; provide post-cardiac procedure care
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and maintain compliance with charting standards
- Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions at all times
