Job Details

  • Location: Attleboro, MA 02703 (close to Boston, MA & Providence, RI)
  • Assignment Type: Travel Nurse – 14-week contract
  • Unit: Labor & Delivery (15 beds, inpatient rooming with infants)
  • Shift: Nights — 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00); 36 hours per week
  • Duration: 14 weeks
  • Start Date: March 23, 2026
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
  • Patient Population: Neonates and adults (perinatal, intrapartum, postpartum)
  • Vaccine Requirements: COVID-19 and flu vaccinations per facility policy

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (perinatal/obstetric nursing)
  • Active Massachusetts RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and AWHONN Beginner certifications (required)
  • AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced certifications (preferred)
  • Travel nursing experience required; prior travel L&D RN assignments preferred
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred, but not required
  • Compliance with facility vaccination policy (COVID-19 required; flu medical exemptions allowed)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a 15-bed L&D unit
  • Perform antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum assessments and interventions
  • Monitor fetal heart rate tracings using EFM and IUPC; recognize and manage abnormal patterns
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and immediate newborn care
  • Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and pain management
  • Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education and newborn care teaching
  • Educate and support families on newborn care, discharge teaching, and baby-friendly protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, physical therapy, and social services
  • Utilize OMNICELL medication system and SBAR communication; maintain accurate documentation
  • Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and facility protocols
