Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse
- Location: Charleston, West Virginia (Charleston, WV 25304)
- Setting: Acute Care – Interventional Radiology Lab at a teaching hospital, Level IV Trauma Center, and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: April 2, 2026 – End: July 2, 2026)
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:30 – 16:00), weekdays
- On-Call: Every 5th weekend; additional call rotation to be discussed
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics (1:1 staffing ratio)
- Orientation: Every other Thursday; first 2 days classroom, then unit orientation
- Charting / EMR: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue/White (RN)
- Parking: Free for travelers
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1870–$1970/week (based on experience and qualifications)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse, with at least 1 year of direct Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
- Active West Virginia RN license or Compact RN license accepted (pending licenses accepted but must be active by start date)
- Current BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric populations in procedural settings
- Comfortable administering procedural sedation and vasoactive medications
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation and float to other units as needed
- First-time travel nurses welcome if IR experience is present
- Must live at least 100 miles from facility (75–99 miles considered case-by-case)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
- Assist with IR procedures including angiograms, fistulograms, permacath placements, EVAR, TCAR, TAVR, MitraClip, mechanical thrombectomy, and embolization
- Monitor and manage patients with CKD, CAD, PAD, PVD, stenosis, AAA, stroke, aneurysm, and other vascular conditions
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation, emergency meds, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, and thrombolytics
- Perform and monitor vascular access, sheath removal, and use of vascular closure systems
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide cross-coverage or float support when needed
