• Shift: 12-hour nights (telemetry, night shift nursing)
• Shifts per Week: 3 (36 hours/week)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required (Med-Surg nurse, telemetry RN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Proficiency with EKG interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Experience using mRS (Modified Rankin Scale) and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Preferred: at least 2 years of stroke care or acute neurology/stroke unit experience (stroke nurse)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit as a registered nurse
• Continuously monitor and accurately interpret EKGs and telemetry readings
• Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Use mRS and NIHSS as part of stroke assessments and documentation for stroke care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to deliver comprehensive care
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and post-stroke care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
