• Location: Kansas City, MO 64114 (Kansas City nursing jobs • Missouri travel nurse)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 21, 2026)
• Setting: Surgical Services / Operating Room (OR) – perioperative care, scrub nurse, circulating nurse duties
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Employment Type: Travel • Travel RN • Travel nursing job
• On Call: Monday–Friday 3:30 PM–7:00 AM when scheduled; Saturday–Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM when scheduled
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,370–$2,500

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active RN license (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience (perioperative/surgical RN)
• BLS certification
• RN surgery specialty experience preferred
• Successful completion of required onboarding screenings and health requirements, including:
  • Drug screening
  • Immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB Test, Varicella, Tdap
  • Physical/health statement
  • Background check
• Completion of required specialty exams and checklists for onboarding, including:
  • Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam
  • Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening
  • Prime Core Competencies Exam
  • Prime Specialty Exam
  • Prime Skills Checklist
• Strong assessment, clinical planning, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR Techs, and multidisciplinary surgical teams

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect peri-operative patient care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults
• Support surgical procedures as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse according to unit assignment
• Coordinate patient care and handoffs with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team to promote efficient patient flow
• Guide and direct OR Technicians and support staff to maintain professional nursing standards
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory standards
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and in-service education
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff and help maintain unit organization and readiness
