We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (NICU RN / neonatal nurse) for a 13-week travel assignment in a state-of-the-art Level IV NICU in beautiful Madison, Wisconsin. Job Details
- Location: Madison, WI 53792 — Madison, Wisconsin travel nurse opportunity
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts (7:00am – 7:30pm); Monday–Friday with 2–3 weekends per 6-week schedule
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: 26-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level IV NICU)
- Orientation: Approximately 1 week (24 hours)
- Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation options available
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020-$2130
Job Requirements (NICU RN / Travel RN)
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years recent NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU
- Previous travel RN / travel nurse experience required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Epic charting experience preferred (within the last 12 months)
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation and telemetry experience (must pass telemetry test prior to start)
- Ability to float to all units, including PICU, for patients under 12 months
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse eligibility)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
NICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver expert, compassionate care to critically ill neonates and infants in a Level IV NICU (neonatal intensive care)
- Manage post-operative neonatal patients, G-tubes, trach/vent care, and multiple modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Perform advanced neonatal procedures including UAC/UVC management, phototherapy, and whole-body cooling
- Interpret and manage telemetry and arrhythmias; participate in required testing and maintain ongoing competency
- Provide family-centered care, patient education, and emotional support throughout admission to discharge
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and pediatric specialists
- Float as needed to other pediatric units within the hospital, including the PICU
