- Unit: Labor & Delivery (10 beds; fluctuating daily census)
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
- Orientation: 36 hours

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required — L&D nurse experience in high-risk obstetrics preferred
- Previous Charge RN experience required
- Active RN license (pending license accepted; must be active before start)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS required
- AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate and FHM certifications preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Must pass on-site drug screening
Key Responsibilities
- Rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no postpartum assignment)
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal births, and C-sections as part of multidisciplinary obstetrics team
- Perform sterile speculum exams, NSTs, reflex checks, edema assessment, and clonus evaluations
- Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, perform IUPC placement and calibration
- Recognize and intervene for abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and obstetric emergencies
- Administer blood products, draw venous blood, start/maintain IVs, and manage infusion pumps
- Support breastfeeding/lactation, pain management, and epidural/general anesthesia care coordination
- Provide care across the lifespan as needed for neonates, infants, and adult patients in the unit
- Float to antepartum when patient census requires flexibility
- Maintain isolation precautions/PPE and participate in vaccine administration protocols
