• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,250–$2,370/week
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day/Night rotation: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Setting: Float between Med/Surg units with ED and PACU borders (float nurse / medical-surgical nursing)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent equivalent Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg RN) experience required
• Previous float experience highly preferred (experience as a float nurse across Med/Surg units, ED, PACU)
• Active New Hampshire RN License OR Compact RN License (proof of state residency required for compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or based on unit needs
• Clinical skills: chest tubes, IV drips (e.g., Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), trachs/laryngectomies, post-surgical lines/tubes/drains, telemetry, complex wound care, and central line care/maintenance

Responsibilities

• Float between various Med/Surg units as needed (1 East, 1 West, 2 West, 2 & 3 East, 3 West, 4 West, 5 West) and support ED and PACU borders
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment
• Administer and monitor medications and IV drips; titrate infusions safely per protocol
• Manage chest tubes, central lines, surgical drains, trachs, and complex wound care
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and promptly respond to changes in patient condition
• Serve as Deceased Patient Coordinator (DPC) as required and follow facility protocols with professionalism
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, allied health, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
