  • Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 – 17:00)

Job Requirements

  • Active Washington RN license or Compact RN license (required at time of submission) — Washington nursing jobs
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience; urology nursing background strongly preferred
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Proven experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Clinical skills: triage, patient teaching, aseptic/sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion/management, suprapubic catheter care, specimen collection, and telephone triage
  • Ability to interpret lab results and handle pharmacy/patient refill requests
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills for outpatient clinical support
  • Two supervisory references from the past three years in a comparable clinical or outpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient nursing care to adult patients with urologic conditions: urinary retention, kidney stones, chronic catheterization, bladder cancer, erectile dysfunction, BPH, hematuria, and urinary tract infections
  • Assist with and prepare for urology procedures including intravesical BCG administration, trial of void, catheter exchange, and suprapubic catheter exchange
  • Perform triage, clinical assessments, vitals, and follow-up phone calls as part of outpatient nursing and travel nurse duties
  • Obtain and document patient health histories, allergies, medications, and physician orders in Epic
  • Set up and maintain aseptic and sterile procedure trays; ensure infection control protocols are followed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including interpretation services, phlebotomy, unit secretary, providers, and pharmacy
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, self-care, catheter care, and post-procedure expectations
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and support continuity of care in the outpatient clinic
