This travel nurse job supports adult and geriatric patients across cardiology, pulmonology, renal, hepatology, and complex medical diagnoses. Ideal candidates are experienced PCU nurses, comfortable with telemetry, IV starts, and EPIC charting.

- Setting: Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — PCU nurse / progressive care nursing
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026) — 13-week contract
- Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:30), weekdays and some weekends, rotating holidays
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- On-Site Position: Yes
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience or equivalent telemetry/step-down experience
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission) — registered nurse credential
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EPIC electronic charting experience required
- Proficiency in IV starts, central/peripheral line care, and telemetry monitoring
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN)
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse RN / travel nurse jobs)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric PCU patients with diverse diagnoses (cardiology, pulmonology, renal, hepatology, adult cystic fibrosis, and more)
- Monitor and manage cardiac drips (no titration), heparin infusions, insulin drips, and high-flow oxygen therapies
- Initiate IVs, manage central and peripheral lines, and perform ongoing telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Follow IV insulin protocols and titrate insulin drips as required by unit policy
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the organization when needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy
- Use specialized equipment such as lift devices, IV ultrasound machines, and bladder scanners
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC and support quality and safety initiatives
