Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week travel assignment in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit while enjoying the welcoming community and proximity to Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

- Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts) — Night shift nursing job
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- EMR: MedHost (MedHost EMR experience preferred)
- Scrub Color: Any color
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be able to obtain New Mexico state clearance; fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers)
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required (Medical-Surgical nursing experience)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- PALS certification preferred
- Ability to float to other units; call may be required only for census flex prior to the start of the scheduled shift if census is low (not a regular requirement)
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills (MedHost EMR)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients on a general medical-surgical inpatient unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and clinical progress using MedHost EMR
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV medications and routine clinical interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Float to other units as needed; call may be required only for census flex prior to the start of the scheduled shift if census is low (not a regular requirement)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Participate in patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
