- Setting: Medical/Surgical Unit (6T) – Med/Surg RN, Telemetry support
- Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse opportunity)
- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- End Date: June 22, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), every other weekend required (night shift nursing)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Charting System: Epic (experience with Epic required)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1460-$1540/week
Job Requirements
- Active OK or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nurse)
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred (travel nurse)
- Current BLS & ACLS certifications (required at time of submission)
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system required
- Ability to float to similar Med/Surg or Telemetry units as needed
- Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care, IV management, and post-procedure care
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg unit (medical-surgical care)
- Monitor, assess, and accurately document patient conditions using Epic
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform phlebotomy as needed
- Provide care for patients with chest tubes, surgical drains, and feeding tubes
- Respond to rapid response and code situations as part of the interdisciplinary team
- Float to similar units (Med/Surg or Telemetry) within scope of practice
- Collaborate with IV team, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
- Participate in minor on-unit procedures and post-procedure nursing care
