- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- End Date: June 22, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 5 x 8-hour day shifts (06:15 – 14:45)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Call Requirement: 25–33% (participate in CVOR call rotation)
- Charting / EHR: Epic (preferred experience with Epic charting)
- Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,650–$1,770
Job Requirements (Qualifications)
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR Surgical Technologist experience (cardiac/cardiovascular OR)
- NBSTSA certification (Certified Surgical Technologist – CST) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record preferred
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility (100-mile radius rule)
- Travel experience not required for candidates with ?2 years of relevant experience
- Preferred experience: community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I/II, cardiac bypass and vascular cases
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative support as a CVOR surgical technologist for CABG, valve replacements, vascular procedures, and advanced cardiac surgeries
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and implantable devices for cardiovascular procedures
- Assemble, pass, and manage instruments during cardiac surgery; anticipate surgeon needs during CABG and valve cases
- Support specimen handling, accurate labeling, and adherence to universal protocol and aseptic technique
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with anesthesia, perfusion, IV team, PT, RT, pharmacy, and nursing staff
- Document perioperative care using Epic and maintain accurate procedure records
- Ensure compliance with OR safety protocols including fire, laser, and radiation safety
- Participate in required call rotation (25–33%) and respond promptly for urgent CVOR cases
