- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Columbus healthcare, Ohio travel nursing)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (PACU RN, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
- Setting: PreOp / PACU — cardiac and vascular surgical cases
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: July 6, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shifts, rotating between 5:00am–5:30pm and 8:00am–8:30pm (12-hour shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Call: Required, including every third to fourth weekend
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Unit Details / Procedures: CABG, AAA repair, TAVR, EVAR, Fem-Pop/Fem-Tib-Peroneal Bypass, Angiogram, Pulmonary decortication, Ablation
Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1830–$1930/week
Required Qualifications (PACU RN / Travel Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in PreOp and/or PACU settings (PACU nursing, perioperative nurse)
- Active RN license — compact or Ohio state license required at submission (Ohio nursing jobs, Columbus RN)
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS certification (required)
- Epic EMR / Epic charting experience (required)
- NIHSS certification (preferred)
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- Level 1 trauma and/or outpatient experience (preferred)
- PACU experience and prior charge nurse experience (preferred)
- Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
- Two professional references, including one from a manager/director or formal leader
Key Responsibilities (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN)
- Provide high-quality nursing care in PreOp and PACU settings for cardiac and vascular surgical patients
- Monitor and manage patients post-operatively, ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia and stable hemodynamics
- Perform pre-operative assessments and patient education for surgical cases
- Manage and monitor arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and other invasive devices
- Recognize and promptly respond to dysrhythmias and other emergent situations
- Administer medications including IV vasopressors, anticoagulants, and emergency drugs per protocol
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams: anesthesia, surgery, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, and pharmacy
- Document care accurately using Epic EMR and follow unit-specific charting standards
- Participate in call rotation and provide required weekend coverage
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, patient safety, and quality care protocols
