Compensation
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130 - $2,250 per week
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Colorado RN license or valid Compact RN license (eligible to practice in CO)
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care RN experience; medical-surgical or oncology experience preferred
- Chemotherapy certification preferred (chemo certification or oncology infusion experience a plus)
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record preferred
- Ability to float within scope to similar units as needed
- Strong clinical skills in pain management, chemotherapy administration, neutropenic precautions, and post-surgical care
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients
- Safely administer chemotherapy, IV medications, and blood products per policy
- Monitor and manage treatment side effects, including neutropenia and infusion reactions
- Implement infection control and neutropenic precautions for immunocompromised patients
- Assist with and perform procedures such as bone biopsies, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and management of chronic pleural drains
- Safely operate and monitor equipment including Hoyer lifts, Sara steady, and Baxter infusion pumps
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, PT/OT, social work, case management) to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in Epic
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, discharge planning, and symptom management
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
