Job Details

• Location: Pratt, KS 67124 — small-town living with parks, outdoor recreation, and friendly neighbors (Pratt, Kansas healthcare).
• Role: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) — Medical-Surgical / Orthopedics / General Surgery patients (Med Surg nurse, medical surgical RN).
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026) — travel nurse assignment.
• Shift: Nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) — night shift RN.
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680–$1,770 per week
• Unit/Setting: Community hospital, 23-bed Med/Surg unit with average daily census of 12 (rural health, community hospital jobs).
• Float: Willingness to float to ER, ICU, and LDRP as needed (cross?coverage, acute care experience).

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or compact state — Kansas nursing jobs, RN licensure.
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg experience required (2 years preferred) — experience with post-op joints and general surgery patients.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (American Heart Association certifications).
• Confidence with IV starts, medication administration, and telemetry monitoring (IV starts, telemetry skills).
• Charge experience, ortho (total hips and knees), and rural health experience a plus.
• First-time travel nurses and local candidates are welcome.
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) — infection control standards for healthcare professionals.
• Completion of orientation and required modules prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics on a Med/Surg unit (patient care, clinical nursing).
• Manage medical and surgical patients including post-op joint replacements and general surgery cases.
• Start and maintain IVs, administer medications, monitor telemetry, and manage patient assessments.
• Perform wound care and manage feeding tubes, ports, and surgical drains.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — PT, RT, pharmacy, physicians, and case management (team-based care).
• Float to ER, ICU, and LDRP to support hospital operations as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to infection control protocols, and support quality improvement initiatives.
