- Location: Madison, WI 53792 — Travel RN / Travel Registered Nurse role in Wisconsin
- Facility: Magnet-designated academic hospital (Academic Level 1 Trauma Center)
- Assignment Type: Travel (Travel RN)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 20, 2026
- Shifts: Day/Evening, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (rotating start times between 6:30am and 9:00am)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2100
- Unit: GI / Bronchoscopy Procedures — Endoscopy / GI RN role
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Daily Census: 20–25 patients
- Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation options available
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin (WI) or compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience within the last 3 years in Endoscopy, GI, or Bronchoscopy procedures
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center or similarly sized hospital preferred
- Recent experience recovering sedated GI and pulmonary procedures (ERCP, EUS, EGD, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record preferred (within last 12 months)
- Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience; must pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Travel RN experience required; travel nursing assignments and travel nursing jobs experience preferred
- Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse housing/relocation eligibility)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing GI and Bronchoscopy procedures, including administration of moderate sedation and pre/post-procedure care (PACU / Phase I & II recovery)
- Monitor and recover patients following sedated and general anesthesia procedures; ensure safe discharge criteria are met
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical and endoscopy team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
- Manage assigned procedure rooms and equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and infection control standards
- Float to other units or locations within the organization as needed to meet staffing requirements
- Document patient care and coordinate care using Epic (electronic charting)
- Demonstrate expertise in airway management, IV initiation/maintenance, arrhythmia interpretation, and use of specialized endoscopy equipment
