Job Details

• Location: Morgantown, WV 26506 (Morgantown, West Virginia travel nursing / WV nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel (13-week travel nurse contract)
• Setting: Acute Care – 7 East Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit (Cardiac Stepdown & Floor)
• Duration: 13 weeks (March 6, 2026 – June 5, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (Fri–Sun or Sat–Mon) – night shift Cardiac Stepdown RN
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 (floor), 1:3 (stepdown)
• Charting / EMR: EPIC (experience with EPIC preferred)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020-$2130/week

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (willing to wait for state licensure if needed)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in stepdown, telemetry, or similar acute care setting
• Skill in cardiac monitor interpretation and ability to read/validate cardiac monitor strips
• Experience with complex wound care, drains, medical devices, chest tubes, and respiratory support
• Experience caring for traumatic brain injuries and complex spinal cord injuries preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must provide an unexpired driver’s license (address must be outside 50 miles from facility)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to trauma, general surgery, bariatric, and cardiac stepdown patients
• Manage complex wound care, drains, chest tubes, and other medical devices
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition in the stepdown environment
• Support respiratory needs and coordinate care for patients with traumatic injuries
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including surgery, medicine, care management, and rehabilitation
• Float to similar units as needed to support patient care and staffing
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC and participate in unit quality improvement initiatives
