Job Requirements — Interventional Radiology Technologist Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) experience; Level I trauma or travel experience preferred
- Active ARRT (R) certification required
- Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Connecticut (CT) state license — must be active prior to start date; pending license accepted if active by start
- Experience with Epic electronic charting system
- Travel experience required (hospital travel radiology jobs)
- Professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions accepted)
- Not accepting local candidates — must live more than 75 miles from facility
Responsibilities — Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech Duties
- Provide high-quality interventional radiology services across both York Street and Saint Raphael Campuses
- Perform a wide range of IR procedures including thrombectomy, TIPS, venous access, TACE, Y-90, ablations, uterine fibroid embolization, and prostate artery embolization
- Operate and maintain specialized interventional equipment such as Inari thrombectomy devices, IVUS, ablation units, excimer laser, and cone beam CT
- Set up equipment, prep access sites, maintain sterile field, and ensure proper use of PPE and isolation precautions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams for high-acuity patient care
- Document procedures, patient data, and post-procedure notes accurately in Epic
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, manage supplies and inventory as needed
- Provide care to a diverse patient population across age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
