Requirements / Qualifications
- Active RN (Registered Nurse) license (compact license may apply)
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU / MICU experience (critical care RN, travel ICU experience a plus)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proven experience with ventilator management and titrating IV pressors (vasopressors)
- Ability to manage complex medication regimens for critically ill patients
- Willingness and ability to care for COVID-positive patients
- Strict 75-mile radius restriction applies
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing in the MICU for medically unstable and complex patients
- Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator assessments and adjustments
- Monitor, titrate, and document IV pressors and other critical medications
- Deliver care to patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, hypertensive urgency, stroke (CVA), and respiratory failure
- Provide nursing care for COVID-positive patients and support units as needed (surgical or cardiac ICU coverage occasionally)
- Accurate and timely documentation using MEDITECH electronic charting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists) to optimize patient outcomes
