- Employment Type: Travel Contract (travel nursing job)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: March 8, 2026
- End Date: June 7, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a); occasional off-shifts (11a-11p or 3p-3a)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Charting System: EPIC (EPIC EMR experience preferred)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,020 - $2,130 per week
Requirements & Qualifications
- Active, unexpired Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible for West Virginia licensure or currently licensed)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER/ED) nursing experience
- At least 1 prior successful travel assignment preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
- TNCC certification preferred
- Critical care background preferred but not required
- Experience with triage, ESI triage acuity scoring, and trauma nursing a plus
- Must provide a copy of an unexpired driver’s license upon submission
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a high-volume ED (average ~55 patients/day)
- Manage a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in the emergency department
- Perform triage, rapid patient assessment, stabilization, and initiate evidence-based interventions
- Care for diverse patient populations including behavioral health, respiratory and cardiac conditions, and occasional trauma/STEMI cases
- Draw labs, interpret cardiac rhythms/strips, and collaborate with in-house respiratory therapy
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR and communicate patient status to multidisciplinary teams
- Work closely with physicians, PAs, LPNs, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal emergency department outcomes
- Participate in orientation, ongoing mentorship, and departmental performance improvement initiatives
