- Shift: Variable 10-hour shifts (6:00am–4:30pm or 10:00am–8:30pm)
- EMR: Cerner (clinical pharmacy documentation)
Job Requirements
- Active Arizona Pharmacist License required (Arizona pharmacist jobs)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute hospital pharmacy experience (Inpatient Pharmacist / Clinical Pharmacist)
- Board certification (e.g., BCPS) and/or accredited pharmacy residency (PGY1/PGY2) preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of medication safety, IV admixture preparation, sterile compounding best practices, and narcotic accountability
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, accurate, and timely distribution of medications to patients of all ages as an inpatient hospital pharmacist
- Provide clinical pharmacy support and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on drug selection, dosing, and therapeutic monitoring
- Prepare and verify IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition, and other compounded sterile products following hospital policies and USP guidelines
- Maintain and update patient medication profiles; monitor for adverse drug reactions and drug interactions
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and prescribers on medication administration, monitoring, and medication safety practices
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and DEA regulations, and support narcotic accountability and controlled substance procedures
- Participate in medication safety initiatives, quality improvement projects, and clinical pharmacy programs to improve patient outcomes
